Disney Ghost Halloween 2022 · Free Crochet Pattern

A few months ago, we were in California visiting some friends, and of course, we had to go to Disneyland! In one of the stores, I saw a t-shirt with a small illustration of a super cute little ghost wearing Mickey ears, and I just had to make it! Here I’m sharing the pattern so you can make it too! I turned mine into a pin, but it would also look super cute as a keychain!

I didn’t use stuffing, but you totally could try it out and see how it looks! If you do, pleeease tag me so I can see your photos!

Materials

  • Lily Sugar 'N Cream cotton yarn in white and orange

  • Lightweight black cotton yarn for the eyes

  • 4.50 mm crochet hook and 3.00 mm hook for the eyes

  • Yarn needle

  • Scissors

  • Hot glue gun

  • Optional: safety pin, brooch backing, or keychain piece

Instructions

Abbreviations I use in my patterns:

  • sc – single crochet

  • sl st – slip stitch

  • ch – chain

  • inc – increase: make two stitches in the same stitch

  • dec – decrease: join two stitches together as one

At the end of each row or round, you’ll see a number in parentheses. That number represents the total number of stitches you should have after completing the instructions for that row or round. For example, if you see (12), it means you should count 12 stitches when you’re done with that row.

Let’s start crocheting!

Disney Ghost

Ghost

  1. Magic ring, 6 sc (6)

  2. 6 inc (12)

  3. 1 dc + 1 inc x 6 (18)
    4–13. 18 sc (18)

(A)
14. 4 sc, make the next 4 sc in the 4 stitches in front, finish the round with 8 sc (8)
15. 8 sc (8)
16. 6 sc, 1 dec (7)
17. 5 sc, 1 dec (6), fasten off and weave in the end.

(B)
14. Join yarn with a sc, make 3 sc, then 3 sc in the 3 front stitches, finish the round with 6 sc (6)
15. 6 sc (6), fasten off and weave in the end.

(C)
14. Join yarn with a sc, make 4 sc
15. Join with a sc to close the round, continue with 3 more sc, fasten off and weave in the end.

Mickey Hat

  1. Magic ring, 6 sc (6)

  2. 1 sc + 1 inc x 3 (9)

  3. 9 sc (9), fasten off and weave in the end.

Ears (x2)

  1. Magic ring, 8 sc (8), fasten off and leave a long tail to sew to the hat.

Eyes

  • Eye 1: Magic ring, 4 sc (4), fasten off and weave in the end.

  • Eye 2: Magic ring, 8 sc (8), fasten off and weave in the end.

Assembly

Sew the ears to the hat, then attach the hat to the ghost. Finish by gluing on the eyes. For the mouth, I glued a fine black thread to create the smile. Now your little ghost is ready! Just add a pin or a chain to turn it into a keychain!
